Rio Mirage Cafe Y Cantina

While the service was great, the food was just okay. My daughter had an enchilada that had a heavy flour taste, and was smothered in cheese, hardly any chicken. My mom had a shrimp cocktail that seemed like it was mostly pico and tomato sauce, and for some reason had lettuce all around. Luckily my menudo was worth it. It was the best part of our trip. Maybe it's the Mexican in me expecting differently, but honestly speaking, the price didn't match the quality or taste.

Veronica went above and beyond to help our Family as she knew we had just a loved one. We were in town for funeral arrangements and she showed care and real heart towards us. What an excellent and empathetic Manager. Great food as well and Chewy (server) was also a class act!

Many times we have eaten at Rio Mirage and never disappointed. Try the Pollo Especial! My spouse loves the enchilada platter. The margaritas come in small and large sizes and are really good. Everything tastes fresh including the rice and beans. The atmosphere is authentic Mexico. Parking is limited so get there early to avoid the crowds. If you have to wait, there is some seating inside. An outside patio is nice during moderate temperatures.

Great service. Definitely come to this place when you're in the Phoenix area. Also can't recommend her anymore. Ask to sit in Kimber's section she is awesome and will hook you up.

I had the Rico burrito, a steak fajita chimichanga. It was great. The beans and rice where good as well. They do have lunch specials, but we didn't try them. Service was good and everyone was friendly. Would come back to try more traditional dishes.

Just WOW! Finally a good home-style restaurant that isn't loaded with salt. Tried for the first time tonight, ordered take-out. Very friendly staff over the phone and in person. Nachos were excellent and unique with their own enchilada sauce. They let us switch out the meat for black beans and it was all fresh tasting. The Pollo Especial was loaded with probably 2 large chicken breast pieces--just a massive plate of good food. Their side portions are generous. The sopapillas were outstanding, and we like them a little crispier, but these were good, even the honey was good. Very, very happy with Rio Mirage Cafe. Definitely cannot wait to go back, eat in and try the cantina drinks sometime. Thank you!

This is an awesome place they made great tasting green corn tamales and cheese enchiladas for our Sunday noon party. I highly recommend their food, professional help and kind approach with suggestions.Thank you so much

They have a dish I crave all the time, the El Rico shrimp pablo peppers roasted and mushrooms in a fried burrito w creme fresh. Wonderful fried beans and rice if you like! Its awesome

Food was solid. Margaritas are great. Pork enchiladas were our favorite.

Food is served on a hot plate with piping hot food! Quality is amazing. Fried icecream is to die for! Try the Rico Especial!

We like this restaurant. Go early! There a large waiting crowd by the time we left at about 6 pm on a Friday night. I had the machaca, very good, with black beans (I don't like rice) and hub had a Carne asada chimichanga that was delicious. I had a medium margarita (10.50 for a huge drink, it was happy hour). Unlimited chips and salsa, great service. We spent less than $45 for 2 meals and 2 drinks. Far better than a big chain. Don't forget to tip your server!

Loved their chips and salsa! Food was authentic and delicous and the service was fantastic. The decor reminded me of being in Mexico. Definitely will be going back.

Reasonable prices and great service. Food flavor was not great. It was bland and the shrimp in my enchiladas were tiny. This location does not serve draft beer which was a bummer.

We got food to go and oh my it was delicious!!!! Priceyer then I expected but so worth it! The staff was so friendly and the restaurant was so cute!

Great spot. Good food, at the original restaurant. It's just a little loud in there when it's full. Don't come there wanting to have a quiet meal.

Nice ambiance and good food, good warm chips, however, one very important item, THE GUACAMOLE, needs improvement!The four of us all found it to be tart and not as flavorful as it needs to be. Please correct this and we will be 100% happy!

This place is awesome, great food, Fernando was our waiter he went out of his way to attend us, after they had sat us down and we wait for about 20 mins. Roxanne was very attentive to our table as well. Good 2 individuals

They have the best enchiladas and the sauce is homemade not of a can. For Christmas my family wanted enchiladas.... So I went to Rio Mirage and they actually sold me 4 quarts of sauce. They were so delicious and the man went out of the way to make it ready for me on Christmas eve before closing. That is excellent customer service.

Authentic atmosphere. Waiter spoke little English which in my opinion added to the authentic experience. I had the mahi mahi fish tacos and they were amazing! Rice and beans, spot on But, if you're looking for vegan options, it's not the place.

Greg V was the best waiter I have experienced in a long time. The atmosphere was great and food was excellent. Made reference to Greg about The Three Amigos and he played along like a true entertainer of this fine dining in a home like setting. Felt most comfortable. Thank you Greg V. Very busy and a bit loud. The outside dining may have been better for me. It was lots of fun with a great mariachi band! Very much a family restaurant. The margarita was good, the chips and salsa was some of the best I've had. Yum yum... The meal was okay but I tried something new and I guess it just wasn't something I would reorder. My table mates all enjoyed their meals. It's some place you should try, for yourself.

The food and service was really good the salsa and chips were fresh and delicious our waiter kept coming to make sure we didnt need anything which is a plus we usually get a refill and that's it till it's time for our checks...the only complaint we had was our table kept moving lol a little unbalanced and my girlfriend's booth was moving pretty bad lol from the people sitting behind her

The food is awesome. This place is a small business. Owned by a family in the Neighborhood. Great people, great food, great staff. It's my favorite place to eat.

I ordered the shredded beef enchiladas with rice and beans and as always the food is amazing. The staff is great, and our favorite manager is Luce.
